Dear class,

I hope this announcement finds all of you safe and healthy.

As you probably know from other announcements from the university, there will be some big changes for the second half of the semester as a response to the global outbreak of coronavirus disease.  The main one is that we'll transition to online classes.

To be honest with you, I'm still trying to examine different options to pick the one which is more suitable for our class. So please post your questions, concerns, comments and suggestions below. I encourage everyone to contribute; this is one way to feel that we're still a community. I'll try to send you another message in the next few days giving you more details about the rest of the semester and answering your questions. For now I have a few announcements:

As in the first half of the semester,  I plan to use Canvas notifications to make any announcement about the class. But because of the changes after the extended Spring break, it will be even more important to check Canvass regularly and make sure that you get notifications about the updates here. 
There won't be any midterm exam on Monday, March 23, as it was scheduled before. As for Midterm II, we'll have a take-home exam, similar to the one that you took for the first midterm except that it has more questions in it. I'll tell you more about this soon.
Problem Set 6 is still due tomorrow at 8:00 pm CT.  This homework was originally due last week, and I don't think another extension would be necessary or helpful for the class.
